Experts who participated in the "2013 China Natural Gas Vehicle Forum" predicted that under the increasing pressure of environmental protection in China, China's natural gas demand is expected to maintain an average annual high growth rate of about 20% in the next five years. Zhang Cheng, an industry analyst at Changjiang Securities, predicts that by 2015 and 2020, China's natural gas demand will reach 260 billion cubic meters and 350 billion cubic meters, respectively. In 2015, natural gas supply will reach 268 billion cubic meters, including 194 billion cubic meters of domestic resources and 74 billion cubic meters of imports; In 2020, natural gas supply will reach 431 billion cubic meters, including 270 billion cubic meters of domestic resources and 161 billion cubic meters of imports. Natural gas consumption as a share of China's total primary energy consumption could increase to 9% by 2015 and will continue to rise to 12% by 2020.
